Audit
Buildings deteriorate over time and begin to show their age through decreased energy performance and signs of needed renovation. In addition, a tenant’s needs may change requiring traffic flow and floor plan changes. A facility survey will help determine areas in need of renovation by performing an energy audit and a building functionality assessment
An energy audit is the best way to understand a building’s thermal performance. Each energy audit is unique to the building itself. An energy audit includes an inspection and analysis of the building’s thermal envelope and an assessment of all the energy consuming equipment within. The data collected will show us the areas of the building envelope and equipment that need attention.
BUILDING ANALYSIS:
| Audit |
 |
| |
Perform infrared thermography test and air leakage (blower) test |
| |
|
| |
Analyze a history of utility use to determine current building performance |
| |
|
| |
Monitor and/or meter areas or equipment to isolate high energy usage |
| |
|
| |
General survey of building type and construction |
| |
|
| |
Inspect building lighting systems and evaluate use of controls (if any) |
| |
|
| |
Evaluate opportunities for implementing renewable resources |
| |
|
| |
Provide a report of proposed upgrades, evaluate future savings and benefits, and identify costs and potential incentives |
|
| Building Function |
 |
| |
Review facility operations to understand functional and spatial processes |
| |
|
| |
Evaluate existing floor plans with owner to determine changes and improvements to be made to the facility in conjunction with energy management upgrades |
| |
|
| |
Evaluate future building plans |
|
| Leardership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) |
 |
Evaluate LEED building certification options with owner |
Following the audit, Purcell Green will work with you to formulate an action plan to help reduce energy consumption and improve indoor environmental quality. |
